Maryland/DC Rankings Breakdown: 2020 Newcomers
PrepHoops Maryland recently updated the class of 2020 player rankings. Gathering a list of players and choosing which rank best fits the individual was an extremely difficult challenge, but we do our best to keep them updated every three months. Our recent update includes an expansion from the number of players ranked from 50 to 65. We love finding out about new players, and we’ve done so since our last update. Here we conclude our breakdown series featuring seven newcomers.
#16 | JIMMY SORUNKE | 6’10 C | ROCKVILLE
Jimmy Sorunke is a physically imposing paint presence at 6’10. He’s still got a lot of growth and development to do, but so do most bigs his age. The future looks bright for Sorunke.
#23 | CORY BARNES JR. | 6’3 G | ARCHBISHOP CARROLL

Cory Barnes Jr. has been a central figure in the rebuilding of Carroll’s basketball program. The 6’3 combo guard is tough as nails, knows what he does well, and sticks to his strengths.
#27 | COLIN SMALLS | 6’0 G | ST. ANDREW’S
One of the biggest impact transfers in the DMV this season, Colin Smalls has fit in nicely in his first year at SAES. The sophomore combo guard can score from three levels, and defends his position well.
#31 | JULES BIKOY | 6’2 G | ST. MARY’S RYKEN
You won’t find many sophomores in the area who’ve improved to the same degree as Jules Bikoy. The athletic 6’2 guard has found his niche on the defensive end, and we really like his potential moving forward.
#38 | JORDAN ALPHONSO | 6’5 F | PAINT BRANCH
Jordan Alphonso brings athleticism, strength, and defensive versatility to the front court at Paint Branch. The sturdily built 6’5 forward has long arms and serves admirably as the team’s primary rim protector.
#46 | MICHAEL KATSOCK | 6’5 G | ST. ALBANS
At 6’5, Michael Katsock is a knock down 3 point shooter with good size on the wing. He rebounds well out of his area, moves well without the ball, and has a very quick release.
#48 | KENNETH WOMACK | 5’10 G | BISHOP MCNAMARA
Kenneth Womack is a quick and crafty lead guard with good vision. He can knock down the 3, but is also adept at getting in the lane and making plays for his teammates.
