Louisiana 2019 Rankings: New Faces pt. 2
Elijah Morgan 5’11 G Jesuit
There are many things that you can say about Morgan as the leader of a very good Jesuit team this year, but everyone can agree that Morgan can absolutely shoot the lights out. If he has crossed half-court, he is almost certainly within range, so be warned. He is a good athlete and can finish pretty well at the rim as well.
Tylan Sanders 6’0 G Tioga
Sanders is next up in an underrated lineage of point guards to come out of Tioga the last few years. Sanders is a really good shooter from deep, and continues to get better. I wouldn’t be surprised if he has a 9+ made 3s game before his career is over. He is also a good passer, and I think with the ball in his hands more next season, he has the potential to average 5-6 APG next season.
Shadon Green 5’7 G Landry-Walker
Green is pretty undersized, but he is absolutely maximizing all that he can out of his frame. He is an excellent shooter from deep, and is a big reason for why Landry-Walker has had as much success as they have had this season. They rely on him to stretch the floor and provide spacing around their pair of bigs, and he does a great job of fulfilling his role, as well as dishing the ball to his teammates.
Najee Jones 6’3 F Broadmoor
Jones is a versatile forward that is capable of playing multiple positions. He is very athletic and for undersized teams is a mismatch down in the post, with a variety of post moves. If you try to put a big on him, he can drive right around him, or shoot right over him. He is starting to play more consistently as a guard, and with his athleticism, he is a very high upside player.
Treun Ford 5’7 G Lincoln Prep
Ford has done a nice job this season as the second option of a Lincoln Prep team that is searching for talent to surround future all american Chanse Robinson. Ford does a good job of scoring the ball both around the paint as well as from deep. He is the team’s second leading scorer, and gets to the line a good amount where he shoots a healthy 71% from the stripe.
