LHSAA Playoff Projections: Div. V
8) Claiborne Christian def. 9) Northside Christian
These two teams decided to play each other early, and the higher seed team came out on top. Claibourne christian will be moving onto the 2nd round.
5) Family Christian vs. 12) Lutheran
This is the 2nd matchup of the year between these two teams, with Family Christian getting the win last time. Lutheran is a team that wouldn’t have made the playofffs this year if the playoffs weren’t split between public and private school.
PHLA Pick: Family Christian
4) ESA Def. 13) Christ Episcopal
ESA has completeled the first step in getting to the final 4 two years straight by getting a big win over Christ Episcopal. ESA has lost a lot of talent from last year’s squad, but they are still on pace to get back.
3) Crescent CIty vs. 14) St. Joseph’s
This is going to be my lock of the century. St. Joseph’s only has two wins on the season, while Crescent City has some wins over the best teams in the state regardless of classification. This is the first step in getting to back to back state championship games. Div. V is actually a pretty interesting state championship race between the three teams at the top in Jehovah-Jireh, Grace Christian, and Crescent City.
PHLA Pick: Crescent City
11) New Living Word vs. 6) Runnels
7) Vision Academy vs. 10) Family Community
I’m not going to lie to you guys, I don’t know all that much about any of these four teams. However, in the small school districts, where everyone makes the playoffs, there is usually a pretty big difference between teams that are in the middle of the pack and the teams that are at the end of the spectrum in Div. V. Because of this, I will take both of the higher seeded teams.
PHLA Pick: Runnels and Vision Academy
