Games To Watch This Week!
New Life Christian vs Elevation Prep: This matchup has a chance to be a good one as these squads have already played each other in a game that came to the wire. Elevation Prep is led in scoring by Senior Guard Devian Smith while New Life Christian Is led in scoring by Senior Wing Arshon King. The matchup between Smith and New Life Sophomore Guard Reggie Walton has a chance to be a good one as both are shorter but quick guards.
SAC Conference Tournament: This 1st year Conference has turned out to be very interesting, teams from around the area competed with each other very hard but now is the time to crown a true champion. With Trinity Christian and Village Christian taking home the top two spots, they receive a bye for the first round. The winner of the Northwood Temple vs Fayetteville Christian game will play Trinity while the winner of Cape Fear vs Freedom will matchup with Village Christian. The tournament championship game will be held at Campbell University and many are already talking of a showdown between Village and Trinity for the 3rd time this season.
Overhills vs Terry Sanford: With Westover, Terry Sanford and Overhills all being right around each other in the conference, seeding wise, this game could have huge implications. The Jaguars knocked off Westover last week to split the season series behind another outstanding showing from Junior Zavian McLean. Terry Sanford is currently on a 4 game winning streak and will be looking to make it 6 if they can knock off Pine Forest in the game prior, the Bulldogs feature Seniors Holt Walker, Gabe Harbison & Sophomore Wing Yates Johnson.
Northside vs Jacksonville HS: If you know anything about Eastern North Carolina basketball, then you know that this matchup is a bigtime rivalry game and always brings in a bigtime crowd. Northside HS is once again having an amazing season with a record of 20-0 so far, and are looking to be state champions once again but this time on the 3A level.
Cannon vs Providence Day: The 3A division in the NCISAA is absolutely loaded this year and this matchup could turn into one of the more exciting games to see. Both of these squads feature players that will be playing at the high major level with Providence Guard Devon Dotson headed to Kansas and Cannon School Forward Jarius Hamilton headed to Boston College.
