SCISA AAA Semifinals @ Sumter Civic Center – Sumter,SC
Porter Gaud 69 vs Heathwood Hall 38
The Cyclones return to the SCISA AAA State Championship Game on Saturday at 8:00 P.M. The Cyclones (24-2) will be looking to 3-peat and say farewell to Aaron Nesmith, Jake Lanford, Harrison Whatley and Jack Nutley.
Nesmith led the way with 18 points, Josiah James chipped in with 17 points and Lanford 11 points. The Cyclones last won 3 straight championships was back in the 2004-2006 seasons.
First Baptist 77 Pinewood Prep 67
The Hurricanes will play in the SCISA AAA State Championship vs Porter Gaud on Saturday night. The Hurricanes were led in scoring by junior guards Michel Dukes with 33 points and Devin Dean with 24 points. The Hurricanes move to 17-7 on the season.
The Pinewood Prep Panthers finish the season at 21-12. Furman bound forward Jalen Slawson finished the game with just 6 points.
Upper State Finals @ Bon Secours Wellness Center – Greenville,SC
Ridge Spring-Monetta 60 Lewisville 58 Class A
The Trojans won the game at the buzzer on a Melvin Alewine bucket to secure the win. The Trojans (21-5) will head to the State Championship next weekend in Columbia at the Colonial Life Arena. The Trojans last played in a state championship back in 1955.
Jerry Tyler led the Trojans with 23 points. Alewine a Newberry football commit added 12 points. Tyson Bettis all-state guard scored just 5 points.
The Lions come up short again were led in scoring by Mars Hill football signee Mikial Fourney with 16 points. Demetric Hardin added 13 points and Devon Busby finished with 10 points.
Ridge View 60 South Aiken 47 Class AAAA
The Blazers will return home to play in the Class AAAA State Championship next weekend vs Wilson HS. The Blazers defeated the T-Breds today behind the strong play of Walyn Napper who finished with 22 points. Crosby Harris-James and Malcolm Wilson both added 12 points a piece.
The T-Breds finish the season at 16-7 were led in scoring by senior guard Melvin McKie with 12 points and Cincere Scott added 11 points.
Lower State Finals @ Florence Center – Florence,SC
Hemingway 59 C.E. Murray 48 Class A
The Tigers return back to Columbia for the 3rd straight season. The Tigers (19-6) defeated the War Eagles for the 3rd time this season. Aaron Parker led the Tigers in the win with 20 points and All-State Class AA Player of the Year Darius Taylor finished with 17 points.
Korey Scott led the C.E. Murray War Eagles with 13 points and Elijah Bay added 12 points.
Wilson 42 A.C. Flora 40 Class AAAA
The Wilson Tigers move to 20-3 on the season and will play Ridge View in the Class AAAA state championship next weekend in Columbia. The Tigers Alex Caldwell hit a mid-range jumper with 39 seconds to secure the victory. Caldwell and left-handed guard Maine Gibson both led the way with 13 points a piece. Allen Williamson and Darius Rhodes both could just manage 6 and 4 points respectively.
The Falcons had chances at the end of the game but just fell short. The Falcons finish the season at 19-7. Zach Foulks led the way with 13 points, Nasir Boyce added 8 points and Derrick “DJ” Sinkler 7 points.
