Five Good Guys
Here is our Prep Hoops Missouri’s latest installment of Five Good Guys, who put in work over the weekend.
Torrence Watson 6’5″ Whitfield: The 2018 Mizzou recruit continued his late-season offensive rampage with a 40-point performance in a victory over Pinckneyville (IL) at the Bank of O’Fallon Shootout. That followed up his career high 58 point night against DeSmet. Watson has averaged 41 points over his past five games. He has also surpassed the 2,500 point mark in his career.
CE Talton 6’3″ Monroe City: The 2019 guard scored 45 points in the Panthers’ 86-84 double-overtime victory over Blair Oaks at the Central Banks Shootout in Jefferson City. Talton made a 3-pointer at the buzzer at the end of the first overtime to cause the second extra session. He then made two free throws with less than a second left to give Monroe City the victory.
Sam Stichnote 6’2″ Southern Boone: The 2019 guard led the host Eagles to the championship of the Southern Boone Classic. He scored a game high 21 points to lead the Eagles to a 69-46 victory over Fulton in the semifinals. Stichnote followed up with 19 points in the Eagles 68-57 victory over No. 1 seed Hallsville in the championship game.
Latroy Harper 6’2″ Penney: The 2018 guard scored a career-high 46 points in Penney’s victory over Lathop. A Northwest Missouri State football commit, Harper scored 77 points in Penney’s two games last week.
EJ Bellinger 6’4″ Fort Zumwalt South: The 6’4″ 2019 guard scored 27 points in the Bulldogs’ 62-52 victory over Washington. He averaged 28 points in South’s three victories last week. Bellinger also had 27 points and 10 rebounds in a victory over Holt, then added 30 points and 11 rebounds in a victory over Fort Zumwalt East.
