The Millwood Falcons took on cross town rival Douglass for Senior Night Friday. The Falcons were also celebrating the career of long time coach Varyl Franklin coming to a close. Coach “Chop” as he is mostly known as was presented with all of his trophies during a halftime celebration.
The Falcons went on and were able to handle business in a tightly contested win over Douglass.
Deontre Price (Millwood) Forward
Price was the most dominant player for the Falcons Friday. The forward brought all the energy and was able to destroy Douglass on the boards. Price finished with a team high 17 points in the game.
Cameron Bell (Millwood) Guard
Bell paced the outside attack for the Falcons as the guard was able to help stretch the floor. Bell isn’t the most consistent shooter, but is capable of hitting if left open. Bell finished with 11 points in the game.
Dezmond Howard (Millwood) Forward
Howard was killer in transition for the Falcons. He was able to streak down the court numerous times for open baskets. Howard will need to continue to develop his outside game if he wants to play at the next level. Howard finished with 13 points in the game.
Shaquielle Hopkins (Douglass) Forward
Hopkins was the sole reason Douglass stayed in this game. He was able to hit shots all around the basket. Hopkins brought the energy with 2 big dunks. If Hopkins wants to play at the next level he will need to work on his handle and shot. He finished with a game high 18 points.
Key’Shon Syles (Douglass) Guard
Syles was able to pace the Trojan offense and was looking to push them in transition. The smaller guard was able to finish well around the rim and showed his strength finishing through contact. Syles still needs to work on his range past the 3-point arc. The guard finished with 11 points in the game.
