Edmond Memorial traveled to Deer Creek Friday as the Bulldogs took on the Antlers in a cross town rivalry game.
The Antlers came out with energy, but found themselves down for most of the game. Late in the 3rd quarter the Antlers started fighting back bringing the game within single digits. The Bulldogs were able to hold them off in the end as they took down Deer Creek 50-44.
Drew Tennial (Edmond Memorial) 2019 G
Tennial was the engine that kept Memorial going. The 2019 guard has a lot of athleticism for his position, but the thing that separates him from other prospects is his strength. Tennial is very strong for a guard and can finish well through contact. He shot the ball well from the line, going 7-8 against Deer Creek. Tennial finished with 15 points which was a game high.
Nic White (Deer Creek) 2018 G
White has had to take over as the senior leader for this Antlers squad. White showed a great stroke from beyond the arc hitting 3 3-pointers. Standing at about 6’4 the guard has good height to be able to get his shot off.
Baron Hopgood (Deer Creek) 2020 G
Hopgood was the best underclassmen prospect from last night and he showed why. The sophomore only scored 11 points, but it is his defense that will bring praise. Hopgood will need to continue developing offensively if her wants to garner more attention.
Kellen Ferguson (Deer Creek) 2018 PG
Ferguson was key for the Antlers down the stretch. The senior guard hit a buzzer-beating 3-pointer at the end of the 3rd quarter as well as making a 3 to bring the game within 3 late in the 4th. Ferguson isn’t projected at the next level, but he might surprise as he showed the fire most coaches look for.
Daniel Kvikala (Edmond Memorial) 2018 PF
Kvikala came off the bench for the Bulldogs and made an impact immediately. The senior forward has had an up and down season, but what he can do is bring energy. Kvikala took 2 charges in the game as well as scoring 8 points.
