ENC Prospects that are Small College Steals!
Lumberton HS Senior Guard Steph Lloyd: Steph has the skillset to play on the D2 level but could possibly be a steal for a college on the D3 level. He plays both ends of the floor and doesn’t take any plays off ,he can score, rebound and pass offensively while locking down his opponent on the defensive end.
Terry Sanford Wing Gabe Harbison: Schools like William Peace have already taken notice and it should be many more programs that are on board with him. His jump shot continues to get better but where he truly makes his mark is with his ability to slash to the basket and playing solid man to man defense.
Pinecrest HS Senior Wing Jaaman Bailey: If there is a program that needs a catch and shoot player on the wing, then they should contact him as he is one of the best shooters we saw this year. His release is not the quickest but its effective for the most part and with him being 6’4 ,he doesn’t have an issue getting his shot off.
Cape Fear HS Senior Point Guard Kevin McLaughin: Don’t let his height fool you, although he is only about 5’8 he has an overall skillset that you have to love. He can score the ball with ease and plays the game with a toughness that you wont see from many , he was one of the leading scorers in public school in the county.
Hoke County Senior Guard Jaleel Ray: He was the third option for Hoke County for much of the season but clearly has the talent to play on the next level. Defensively he gets after it, and doesn’t mind defending the opposing teams best player, on offense he can knock the deep ball and gets into the paint at a decent rate.
Westover HS Forward Kenny Scott: His game is far from a finished product but you have to like his upside at 6’7 and the possibility of what he can become over time if he puts the work in. He doesn’t have bad hands and once he gets more comfortable with his back to the basket and some added strength he will be a nice player.
