DME Academy v. The Rock School: Top Performers
On Tuesday, Gainesville-The Rock School celebrated Senior Night with two of their own, Daylin Lee & Antrell Charlton. What they didn’t realize, is that they would be a part of one of the most epic battles in recent Rock history with DME Academy. The home-team Lions secured an 85-82 win after two overtimes, a posterizing dunk was served, and a senior got his first-career triple-double. Check out the standouts from the night.
Bryan Greenlee – The Rock: One of the most intense hoopers out on the floor, the junior guard broke out for a game-high 31 points. After the first two quarters, the fire grew. Greenlee drilled six treys between the second half and two overtimes—one was to send the game into a second overtime at the buzzer, his next three was the first points OF that 2nd OT. Really decisive coming off-screens. On defense, his hands are active, but controlled. He’s capable of getting the steal, Bryan notched two in the game.
Mayoum Mayoum – DME Academy: He can be one of the best players to ever come out of the Academy. Mayoum’s around 6’4”, 6’5” and finished with a team-high 17 points. He handles the ball really well below the key, doesn’t get rattled when spaces get tight. His jumper is solid. He can get to the rack, at will. After getting the steal at half-court, he raced a Rock post-player to the cup and absolutely flushed it on him. Catch it on “@rawerecruits” on Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook. Just a sophomore, his IQ is only going to grow.
Jaden Campbell – The Rock School: Campbell had a “will not quit” attitude the entire night. He played like he refused to be outworked. In the paint within five feet of the rim, he battled for rebounds and putbacks & hit a crucial bucket to help force OT. He was outplaying some DME bigs in the post at certain points of the game.
Deandre Harvey – DME Academy: Harvey managed the game very well down the stretch while running point, while also knocking down some deep treys of his own. He was able to hit the short jumpers and get through traffic to finish at the rim. A junior, Harvey was seen being a vocal leader on the floor, as well. He finished with a team-high 18 points.
Antrell Charlton – The Rock School: It’s only right that a senior gets his first ever triple-double during his last home game with the squad. It was written. There’s a certain type of patience to his game, you can tell he likes to pick spots. Coming off a screen, he can get a bucket multiple ways. He laced 13 points, 11 rebounds, and 10 assists. Even after missing a potential game-winning layup at the end of regulation, he never got rattled. He stayed composed, attacked the game, and earned a win.
