The second round of the NCHSAA playoffs are today and we are taking a look at some of the Division II and III college prospects that will be playing in the second round.

Hendersonville HS vs Pisgah HS

Kalın Ensley

Kalin Ensley (6’4, 2019) Hendersonville HS-The Bearcats take on Pisgah High School in the second round and Ensley is a legitimate Division II prospect. He has a nice strong build and long arms that he uses well at the wing/slasher position. He is a good shooter out to the three point line and can finish above the rim with some highlight dunks. He has the ability to rebound well and can push the ball on the break.

Mountain Heritage HS vs Wheatmore HS

Lucas Jenkins (6’3, 2020) Mountain Heritage HS-Jenkins picked up an offer from Mars Hill University over the summer and has been gaining traction all season. Like Ensley, Jenkins has a strong build and can score the basketball coming off screens and slashing to the basket. He is a skilled player that has a level of toughness that is hard to find these days.

Gavin Rains (6’6, 2019) Wheatmore HS-Long and has the ability to handle the basketball well is what first jumps out watching Rains. He is a skilled post player with a soft touch around the rim and can step out and take his man off the dribble. He can block shots, he does a really good job of running the floor, and can finish with power in transition. It should be a good match-up with Mountain Heritage sophomore big man Justus Shelton in the paint.

East Lincoln HS vs North Surry HS

Sidney Dollar (6’3, 2018) East Lincoln HS-Dollar comes from a family of athletes in the Lincolnton, North Carolina area. His brother Cameron is a freshman at UNC-Charlotte and was a two-sport star at the same school. The younger Dollar is an athletic forward that does a great job of rebounding and is one of the more athletic players in the state.

Coleson Leach (6’2, 2018) East Lincoln HS-Leach does a really good job of scoring without the ball in his hands, he uses the angles and makes the right cuts to get wide open for easy scores. He is a very good shooter with a really nice stroke and form. He is a smart player that knows how to get into the right position.
