Class of 2019 Wing Sleepers
Good crop of wings in the 2019 class at the top which means there are room for a lot of sleepers at the shooting guard and small forward positions as well. We dive into some of our favorite under the radar guys.
SF Keenan Jones (Whitney Young)
Current Ranking: #36
Travel Team: Young & Reckless
Jones is your classic three and D wing. The lefty has size on the perimeter and gets after it on the defensive end with his length and lateral quickness. He can also shoot it off the catch effectively.
SG Sean Houpt (Danville)
Current Ranking: #39
Travel Team: Illinois Irish
Houpt is a tough as nails two guard that is versatile. He shoots it extremely well off the catch and is a lockdown defender on the perimeter. Quality passer and rebounds in traffic great for a guard.
SG Justin Eagins (Downers Grove South)
Current Ranking: #54
Travel Team: Kessel Heat
Eagins is a pure scorer from the two guard spot. The lefty likes to get out in transition where he can finish and is a sound perimeter marksmen both pulling up and off the catch.
SF Jeremiah Oden (St. Rita)
Current Ranking: #55
Travel Team: Team RWA
Oden is all upside at this point. He has all the physical tools with height, length, and athleticism. The St. Rita wing just isn’t very productive. He has the chance to skyrocket up this list with a monster spring which he is capable of if he puts it all together.
SF Johnny Roeser (Carmel)
Current Ranking: #56
Travel Team: Illinois Wolves
Roeser is a skilled small forward that can almost play point-forward with his passing. Solid ball handler and is capable of hitting an open shot. High IQ kid that is willing to sacrifice for the team and do what is asked of him.
SF Mohammed Alausa (Chicago U-High)
Current Ranking: #57
Travel Team: Young & Reckless
Alausa is a two way player that makes an impact on both ends of the floor. Athleticism plays well in the open floor and can slash to the hoop off the bounce. Tough on ball defender.
SG Malcolm Miller (Shelbyville)
Current Ranking: #72
Travel Team: Illinois Irish
Miller is a good spot up shooter with size. That will be his calling card at the next level. Look forward to seeing his progress against high level competition this spring.
SG Jamir Price (Rock Island)
Current Ranking: #73
Travel Team: Quad City Elite
Price is an upside two guard that has athleticism and flashes scoring punch, but it isn’t consistent in the games we have seen. He has the upside to take a big jump in the next update.
SG Fillip Bulatovic (Maine South)
Current Ranking: #89
Travel Team: All-In Athletics
This is a quiet and unassuming wing that goes about his business and finishes with 15 to 20 points when the game is over. Athletic wing with a clean release and the ability to get buckets.
SF Tujaunte Williams (Orr)
Current Ranking: #91
Travel Team:
Williams is all upside. Long and lanky forward is still fairly raw as a player, but he has prospect written all over him. Can’t wait to see the progress he makes over the next year!
