Prep Hoops takes a look at which players this week signed with college football programs that are also pretty good basketball players here in the Palmetto State.

Shaquan Davis #14 – Summerville HS signed with South Carolina State (pictured on front)

Davis had basketball interest back in the fall after playing last summer with TMP 17U. Davis 6’5 is currently averaging 17.2 ppg for the Green Wave heading into the playoffs this week. Davis had 38 receptions – 663 yards and 8 touchdowns this past fall.

Dominique Perry – Brookland-Cayce HS signed with Hutchinson CC (KS)

Perry is currently averaging 19.5 ppg for the Bearcats heading into the playoffs this week at Loris HS.

Tevaughn Higgins

Tevaughn Higgins – Lower Richland HS signed with North Carolina A&T

Higgins had a monster year on the gridiron for the Diamond Hornets. Higgins passed for 1,661 yards and ran for another 1,146 yards. Higgins teams up with Christian Brown (2019) on the hardwood. The Diamond Hornets travel on the road to Hartsville HS to start the playoffs this week.

Corey Fields

Corey Fields – Baptist Hill HS (Hollywood) signed with South Carolina State

Fields had a magical season in the leading the Bobcats to the Class A State Championship Game. Fields passed for 4,165 yards this season and 56 touchdown passes. Fields ran for 883 yards. The Bobcats were the first team from Charleston County to play in the State Championship since 1991.

Kobe Praylow

Kobe Praylow – Hannah-Pamplico HS signed with Methodist (NC) (NCAA D3)

Praylow led the Red Raiders with 1,334 yards rushing and 17 touchdowns this season. Praylow is currently averaging over 18 ppg this season on the hardwood. The Red Raiders start the playoffs this week.

Mark White – First Baptist (Charleston) signed with North Greenville (SC) (NCAA D2)

White 6’3 started his career at Garrett Tech and played the past 2 seasons for the Hurricanes. White a edge rusher helped the Hurricanes win back to back State Championships.

Demarkiis Doe

Demarkiis Doe – Williston-Elko HS signed with South Carolina State

Melvin Alewine – Ridge Spring-Monetta HS signed with Newberry (SC) (NCAA D2)

Alewine a 4 year starter at DE had 112 tackles and 6 sacks this season for the Trojans. Alewine is averaging 10.6 ppg on the hardwood this season.

Pete Elmore – Barnwell HS signed with Newberry (SC) (NCAA D2)

Elmore was the QB for the Warhorses the past few seasons.

Naszir Mallory

Naszir Mallory – Cheraw HS signed with Hutchinson CC (KS)

Mallory recorded 19 sacks this season for the Braves.

Kendall Moultrie

Kendall Moultrie – Latta HS signed with South Carolina State

Moultrie hauled in 61 receptions for 930 yards and 10 touchdowns for the Vikings.

Tyquan Porter – Dillon HS signed with Georgia Military

Porter helped the Wildcats win another 3-A State Championship with 11 interceptions as a defensive back.
