5 Takeaways : Lewisville vs McBee
Prep Hoops took in the action at McBee HS last night with a big Region 3-A matchup between the Lewisville HS Lions. Both teams entered the game at 7-2 and in a 3 way tie with Great Falls. The crowd was into all night along for the Panthers senior night.
Mikial Fourney (2018) and Devon Busby (2018) both hit some shots early to finish with 13 points a piece. The Lions prevailed on the road 59-56.
MVP : Jadakiss Talford (2019) Lewisville HS (pictured on front)
Talford came though down the stretch for the Lions in the win. Talford plays strictly inside the paint with a big stocky frame. Talford who doesn’t play football for the Lions finished the game with 13 points. Talford bullied the Panthers in the paint all night long.
Best Defensive Performance : Demetric Hardin (2020) Lewisville HS
Hardin is extremely athletic and active. Hardin put his hand on plenty of deflections last night with his activeness all over the floor. Hardin now 6’3 has grown a few inches in the past year finished the game with 9 points and several loose balls.
Shooter : Shane Hammonds (2018) McBee HS
Hammonds playing in his last game at home for the Panthers finished the evening with 25 points. Hammonds is a very confident and sweet smooth stroke on the perimeter. Hammonds a 3-sport athlete wants to play basketball in college he informs Prep Hoops. Hammonds recently went over 1,000 career points.
Who are these guys ? Nick Boyle (2019) McBee HS and Maurice Grant (2019) Lewisville HS
Boyle a left-handed guard finished the night with 17 points while connecting on a few three pointers. Boyle must defend a post on the defensive end plays all 3 sports for the Panthers.
Grant is the energizer bunny on the floor for the Lions. Grant really likes to attack the rim with his athleticism. Grant got to the rack with ease.
Playoffs :
Both schools will be playing in the SCHSL playoffs next week. Lewisville #2 seed will host a home game while the McBee Panthers #3 seed will go on the road to play. Great Falls won the region with a 8-2 record and won the tiebreaker.
