2018 Rankings Update: Hampton Roads Wings
As we continue to break down the 2018 rankings update, we take a look at the wings out of the Hampton Roads area.
Dereon Seabron | 6’6” | Lake Taylor (#17 Overall)
Seabron has been one of the best players in the state this season, as he averaged a double-double and led the 757 in scoring this season. An uber talented wing with the ball handling ability of a guard, Seabron gets in the lane off the bounce and rebounds like a big man. He’s long, athletic and skilled, making him extremely effective in a number of ways on the court.
Jalen Jordan | 6’3” | Lake Taylor (#39 Overall)
Jordan is a streaky shooter, but once he gets it going he has shown that he can really fill it up at a high level. In their win over LC Bird this year, he scored 38 points on just 15 shots. He’s a good secondary ball handler, rebounds well as a wing and is athletic enough to guard multiple positions. However, when he shoots it well that’s where he’s really dangerous as a threat.
Lamont Edmonds | 6’4” | Maury (#83 Overall)
Edmonds is a relatively unknown prospect who can play inside and out and presents mismatch problems. He’s athletic in transition, is strong enough to rebound and score on the block but is also skilled enough to handle the basketball in transition and knock down outside shots. His mix of skill, size and athleticism will make him a steal at the next level.
Keith Holmes | 6’3” | Bishop Sullivan (#88 Overall)
Holmes has steadily improved and in his senior season, the Lees-McRae commit has shown that he’s ready to be the guy. He can shoot it from deep, he has great length and he has an uncanny ability to create shots out of nothing. If he continues to improve at the next level, he could be a really good 3 and d guy.
Darien Allison | 6’1” | IC Norcom (#92 Overall)
Another under the radar kid, Allison is a skilled and stocky guy who can play multiple positions and do a little bit of everything. He can shoot the basketball, he can make plays for others and he’s a good rebounder for his size. He has a mix of IQ and skills that will bold well for him at the next level.
Dasean Roberts | 6’2” | IC Norcom (#126 Overall)
Unlike Allison, Roberts isn’t as polished and still has a ways to go, but he’s a smooth athlete that can make shots when set and is a highlight reel waiting to happen. In transition, he shows tremendous explosion and finishing ability through contact. He just needs to be more consistent moving forward to be an impact guy at the next level.
