2018 is here and the high school basketball season is nearing the midpoint. Hopefully players, coaches and fans have all had some downtime to recharge after the grueling Christmas tournament season and are ready for what the new year holds. There are no games on Monday, January 1st due to the holiday so we’ll start our preview with Tuesday night games.
Tuesday, January 2nd
In the 4th region, Jared Coomer and Barren County travel to take on Jarius Key and Bowling Green.
Two of Lexington’s best teams tangle as Cameron King leads Lafayette to Bryan Station.
Another big rivalry game in Lexington as Lexington Christian makes the 5 minute trip to tackle Lexington Catholic.
Big game in the 12th region as Boyle County makes the drive to Pulaski County to battle Danny Butt and Steven Fitzgerald.
Wednesday, January 3rd
No games on the schedule (according to MaxPreps)
Thursday, January 4th
Southwestern hosts McCreary Central in a pivotal district game.
In a big 3rd region game, Breckinridge County heads to Muhlenberg County.
Louisville Collegiate travels to take on Thomas Nelson.
Friday, January 5th
In the 3rd region, Daviess County travels to Apollo in a big district matchup.
Battle of the bigs as Walton-Verona’s Dieonte Miles tackles Simon Kenton’s Zach Kelch.
Catholics clash at St. Xavier plays Trinity.
Over in the first region, Mayfield takes on Graves County.
Scott County takes on district foe Henry Clay in Lexington.
