Highland’s Daxton Carr Is Prep Hoops Idaho Player Of The Week (1/15-1/22)
Prep Hoops Idaho is proud to continue our Player of the Week award for the 2017-2018 prep hoops season. Each Player of the Week candidate below has put up impressive stats during the past week in addition to being an integral member for their respective team.
Each week we highlight those who have stood out in what will be a season long tradition spotlighting the top producing prospects in the state of Idaho.
In this week’s POTW nominations it is a who’s who of excellent players across the state. There were a ton of outstanding performances that simply could not be ignored, a testament to the type of hoops that is currently being played at this point in the season. As mentioned, the list of nominees this week was impressive, perhaps the strongest we have seen all season. But it was Daxton Carr at Highland who snagged the honors this week and for good reason. Carr poured in a total of 62 points including a massive 41 point performance in overtime against Rigby that earned him a place in the Highland record books.
The future Cal Poly hooper has been at it all season long for Highland and is a top player in the entire state without question. Carr is likely not finished putting up strong performances for his team as they look to finish down the stretch of the season in style and by adding more wins. We expect to see Carr’s name in a few more POTW lists by season’s end. Congratulations Daxton Carr, our Prep Hoops Idaho Player of the Week!
