The Cougars have struggled through a rough season and unfortunately things did not get much better as they lost to the Ironwood Eagles 69-28
Best Hair: Camrin Taylor (Kellis)- neck length locks with a headband to not obstruct the view. The 6’3 big man showed great movement for his size running the floor well and good passer.
Best Athlete: Ajang Aguek (Ironwood)- showed an all-around game shooting jumpers and catching lobs.
Toughness: Cody Crowther (Kellis)- The Senior PG showed a lot of grit which can be tough to do in the midst of a long losing campaign. Did a good job of constantly pushing the ball up court
Shooter: Dominic Gonzalez (Ironwood)- Sophomore has a smooth stroke and shoots with a lot of confidence. Has an effortless demeanor to his game.
Best Shoes: Nick De La Rosa (Kellis)- rocking the unpopular (yet comfortable) black/red/cement Jordan 29’s. Showed an ability to hit the spot up three and did a good job of moving without the ball for open shot opportunities. The 6’3 Junior is averaging 8.7ppg
Most Swag/Best Name: Daniel Ruiz/Cassius Carmichael (Ironwood)- wore 2 different colored shoes of the same model (one being yellow which had no business being involved with the Eagles black/red color scheme).
Potential: Daniel Valladares-Lopez (Kellis)- The 6’4 sophomore comes in nearly averaging double figures at 9.6ppg. He operates primarily from the high post and has a solid frame.
Accessories: Tyrese Eugene (Ironwood)- without an actual headband the 6’0 Sr. made-due by taking a cut up T-shirt and tying it around his forehead.
6th Man: Noah Parra (Kellis)- when someone enters the contest with both knees bandaged it’s no surprise they show great hustle during the game. At 6’2 he had two great blocks against 6’4” and 6’7” Ironwood players.
