This week will be the Top 10 games that are not involved in tournaments. Even with the limited games because of the tournaments, there are some very enticing matchups across the Evergreen state. The tournaments also will have some big-time matchups throughout the state but with the unpredictability of tournaments we leave them out as a whole.
- Chelan played a highly aggressive defensive game to take the win against Cascade. Coming off of a big win against Life Christian Academy. Chelan has moved up the rankings with some impressive play over the past couple of week.
- Life Christian Academy gets back on track with a big blow out win against Ocosta. The game was over before the end of the first half. The pressure applied by the eagle guards was to much to handle. It seemed more like a lay up drill for the most part. Omari Maulana and Eric Overgaard were the two main scorers and set the pace right from tip.
- Federal way came into the game against Todd Beamer with a message. They are the team to beat. 105-49 was the score. Even with a 50 point blow out the game seemed even more out of reach than what the score shows. Todd Beamer had multiple players in double digits and the ball looked like a pin ball machine with how many times it zipped around the perimeter.
- The North Thurston Rams improve to 10-0 by beating the Yelm Tornadoes. This was a balanced attack. The ram guards took a hold of this game and put there mark on it from the defensive end. Offensively the ball was being shared and guys were getting open shots due to Jeremy Spencer’s penetration.
- WF West defeats Black Hills. This game was close for the most part and late in the second half the wolves made a run that the crowd into the game. WF West just has more height and they were able to control the glass more effectively.
- Tumwater wins a by a nose thread against Aberdeen. Tumwater was in some deep HOT water during this game. Aberdeen took it to them with there 3 point onslaught. It was like they couldn’t miss. Fortunately the T Birds have a guy by the name of Damon Gaither. He played I would say one of his better games of the season. Not because of his scoring output but because he made the right decision when needed.
- Matthew Poquette for Morton White pass had a MONSTER game scoring 36 points and leading his team to a victory against Wahkiakum. With the way his confidence was flowing he could have had 50 but he is a very unselfish player. Most of his points came within the flow of the offense.
- Elma wins a nail bitter against Hoquiam. This game featured two teams that have been struggling to find an offensive identity. Both of these teams played the best basketball I’ve seen all season. Both teams were able to execute there sets and looked more polished. Even thought Elma got the win. This a good stepping stool for Hoquiam.
- Mark Morris defeats R.A. Long 54-41. Mark Morris guard Noah Meija went off in this game. He led all scorers with 18 points and most of his buckets came off of dribble drives. This young man has a bright future. R.A. Long couldn’t seem to find there footing earlier on. They struggled getting the ball up the court and struggled getting into there sets.
- Adna put a beating on Toledo 63-40. Most of the game Adna led by over 30. Adna guards Adam Mower and Cody Young were stellar on defense. Post Bo Moon was key in the middle with controlling the glass and throwing some precise outlet passes for transition buckets.
