Recruiting Report: Todd Johnson (2019)
Todd Johnson is currently the second leading scorer at Boyd Anderson this season.
A 2019 guard who is 6’2″, 165 lbs., Johnson is averaging 11.3 PPG and 3.5 RPG.
He came up on varsity late last season as he said he faced a lot of adversity and stepping stones playing on JV. Johnson called his leadership and ability to make his teammates better two aspects that have improved.
“My expectations are to make it to the Big 8, win districts, regionals and make it to states,” Johnson told Prep Hoops Florida. “This season is going alright for us, we’re not the most talented but we work and play the hardest to win.”
This past summer, he ran with South Florida Elite. He says it was a productive showing for him.
He has no offers yet, but he’s drawn interest from Division II programs Morehouse and Newberry. He visited FIU this past summer.
With a wingspan of 6’7″, Johnson pointed to his athleticism as one of his biggest strengths. He also said his shooting is one of best assets. Johnson is aiming to improve his strength and overall defense.
Right now, Johnson is taking advantage of his varsity role. If he can capitalize not only will Boyd Anderson be better off, but he’ll have a much better chance to develop his game. That is important right now for the junior guard.
