Recruiting Report: Dillon McCullough (2018)
Dillon McCullough (2018) from Tri County North has been off to a fantastic start this season. Averaging over 20 points per game, the season has started out “better than I can imagine” to the young PG. Offensive improvements have made McCullough into a more dynamic scorer, however other aspects in his game still need improvement as his career continues.
Before transferring to TCN, Dillon was the starting PG for Tri-Village, a local D4 powerhouse that always found themselves playing in March. While with Tri-Village, McCullough was more of a passing PG as he was better at setting up teammates to score than scoring himself. Now, he still creates plays for his teammates, but he also scores the ball and in high amounts. One of the positive outcomes since transferring has been Dillon putting Tri County North on the map as a basketball power.
One year ago, TCN finished with 4 wins total during the 2016-17 season. As of today, the Panthers have already won 4 games ad obviously have many more chances to improve before the end of the season. Dillon tells me it’s “a great feeling giving the community a reason to get behind the team”. With his recent individual and team success, Dillon and TCN could easily be playing deep into February this season.
As of right now, Dillon has received interest from Kent State at the D1 level, as well as Bluffton, Findlay, Capital, and Heidelberg among others since June. Besides playing at the next level, Dillon’s goal is to win Player of the Year in the CCC as well as 1st team all-Regional.
