Recruiting Report: Bryce Phillips (2018)
North St. Paul is 10-2 on the season with some big wins and it’s been Bryce Phillips leading the way with the ball in his hands.
“Our new coach has pushed us and we are improving day by day,” Bryce said. “I feel like I have improved on scoring and finding the open man and helping my team in many different ways then I have.”
With wins over Chaska, Tartan, and North St. Paul, the Polars control their own destiny leading the Metro East Conference (they are 5-0 in league play). The Polars have three score losses to Eden Prairie and Woodbury so they’ve proven they can compete with anyone.
“We have a bunch of guys no one really knows about that want to work hard and do things for us, we grind together and we all do what’s best for our team,” Phillips said.
Phillips is defending, handling the ball, creating for guys like Goodnews Kpegeol (19 points a game), Cahlil Golden (seven points per game), Dylan Bateman (6.6), Marcus Sims (6.7), and others, and he’s the second leading scorer at 11 a game.
“My individual goals are becoming a better scorer and defensive player, and also win all conference, our team goals are to win conference and sections and make it to state again and win!”
Phillips is hearing from two schools the most.
“The University of River Falls and Bethany Lutheran have been in contact with me a lot and I plan to visit River Falls soon!”
