Recruiting Report: Brady Van Holland (2018)
Six-foot-4 shooting guard Brady Van Holland is one of the several quality pieces that Harrisburg uses for a balanced, undefeated team.
Van Holland is one of eight seniors who see action for the Tigers along with a pair of juniors. This team has won all of their games by double figures save the eight point win over Brandon Valley and they’ve taken out teams like Yankton, Central, and Watertown by impressive numbers.
“I’ve learned that our team shares the ball well and we play really good team defense,” Brady said. “I expect the competition to get harder as teams are figuring out things about us.”
The goal remains the same for Harrisburg and that’s about championships. Harrisburg turned a corner during the second half of the 2016-17 season and they have been riding that momentum wave every since.
“As a team we want to win the ESD conference and get to a state tournament again,” Brady told PHD.
The team is balanced but within that balance there is of course individual highlights. Like the quarter buzzer beater Brady hit against Yankton giving them key momentum as Brady scored 17, the 20 and 12 he had in the big Brandon Valley win and the four threes made in that game, and the 18 Brady just had beating Roosevelt.
It’s performances like this that have Brady’s future school Dakota State excited to add him. Brady is also excited about his future team.
“Dakota State is doing pretty well so far,” Brady explained. “I like the players they have and the new recruits they brought in. I’m excited to see what the next level is like. I’m ready for the challenge.”
