Recruiting Report: 2018 Flo Thamba
2018 6’11 senior Flo Thamba of Mountain Mission is set to make his college decision on January 15th. Thamba is currently one of the top rated big man in the country that is still undecided on where he will be going to college. In his game at the Chance Harman Classic he finished with 14 points and 11 rebounds.
Thamba is originally from The Democratic Republic of the Congo and his parents will be here in the United States with him when he makes his college decision, “The reason I decided to commit on January 15th is because my family will be coming to town and I will sit down with them to talk about it and by January 15th my decision will be made.”
Thamba is down to a final four schools of Virginia Tech, Baylor, Nebraska and Illinois. He broke down each school for us.
Virginia Tech: “Virginia Tech is a very good school, they work hard and I like Coach Buzz. He works his guys very hard and he develops them well. Those are both very good aspects and I like that a lot.”
Baylor: “Baylor is a good school too, they are a school that is good at developing good big men and I like Coach Drew, he is a good coach and when I went on my official visit, I had a good time with them.”
Nebraska: “Nebraska, same thing. Coach Miles is a good coach. His program is not really on a hot pitch but they are getting there, the program is under development and that is a really good sign.”
Illinois: “Illinois, Coach Underwood is a very good coach. He has good guys and good guards and he wants me to come and be a part of is team because they are very undersized.”
After he makes his college decision he will be able to focus on what he wants to improve on, “I want to work on my offensive game, and I feel like my defensive game can always get better because I want to become unstoppable.”
