Ques Glover: Recruiting Update (2019)
With a staggering 50.53% of the popular vote, Bearden (23-1) junior G Ques Glover earned our @PrepHoopsTN Player of the Week!
Fans and friends are not the only people paying attention.
“Furman (University)…they came to see me,” said Glover. “The coach (Trey Meyer) came to watch me practice. He was telling me something about their season. I am in the recruiting process with them.”
Look for Ques Glover to visit Furman later this month. The Paladins intend to host him for a basketball game.
Since the beginning of this season. (2:45 away) Visit? I plan on seeing a home game in late January. I think have visit in late January.
Furman University is about two hours and 45 minutes away from Glover’s hometown. FU Assistant Coach Trey Meyer is spearheading Glover’s recruitment.
“He is a great guy,” said Glover. “I really enjoyed talking to him. He seems like an honest person, so I know he wouldn’t lie to me about their school.”
Interestingly, there is a Knoxville tie to Furman. Senior Paladin Devin Sibley played high school ball for Karns.
Glover’s cousin attended Middle Tennessee and family-friend Jalen Steele (Fulton HS) played for Mississippi State.
“We worked out together when I was younger,” said Ques Glover.
Did he learn anything from Jalen and his cousin?
“They always worked hard,” said Ques Glover. “When parties were going on they were still in the gym. Jalen missed his prom to go workout. They always worked hard and separated themselves from their teammates and other players around this area.”
On top of Furman Glover gets regular contact from: Austin Peay. Lipscomb, ETSU, Arkansas State, Murray State, Morehead State.
“I got an offer from Cal State Bakersfield.”
South Alabama reached out December 29th. South Caolina and ETSU hosted Ques Glover for Elite Camps back in summer.
“(ETSU) kept in touch with me from there,” said Ques Glover. “They came to watch me work out at the school. They have a great head coach. I like Coach Shay. Great guy. He keeps in touch with me through the season.”
Both Furman and Austin Peay came to watch Glover work out.
With a strong GPA (3.2) and a comfortably qualifying ACT score of 23 the starting guard will certainly be ready to play right away.
Congratulations again to the Player of the Week, Bearden’s Ques Glover!
