Queen City Un-Signed Seniors
The Charlotte area has always been the Mecca of high school basketball for the state of North Carolina, with a huge population and a pro team that many kids look up to, Charlotte is a hub for basketball talent in the state. Here is a look at some of the top unsigned seniors in the area.
Jairus Hamilton (Cannon School)-The top unsigned prospect in North Carolina will make his college commitment tonight at 7PM. The 6-foot-8 forward for Cannon School in Concord, North Carolina had a great showing when I saw him last at The Chick-Fil-A Classic in Columbia, South Carolina. His showing displaced questions about his shooting, which was one major re-flag for college programs recruiting the athletic Hamilton. He shot the ball consistently every game for Cannon School and showed his ability to knock down shots past the three-point line. He is a physical forward, more in the line of hybrid forward that can step out and knock down shots and run the floor.
Qon Murphy (Cannon School)-One of the most athletic players in the 2018 class for NC; a dynamic slasher; has a great motor; makes good decisions in the open court and has been getting better at his shot making and is making more consistently. Had a very strong Chick-Fil-A Classic. He averaged 26 points, 8.7 rebounds, 4 assists at John Wall Holiday Invitational against IMG and Heritage HS. He has a 1000 SAT, 17 ACT, 2.7 GPA.
Stephen Edoka (Concord First Assembly)-The athletic wing is a Division One prospect and native of Nigeria; long and athletic; can guard multiple positions on the floor; can post-up smaller players; he moves well without the ball; he has a high-level motor and is a hard worker; he is one of the best rebounding wings in the state; has a 6-foot-8 wingspan.
Elijah Lockhart (West Mecklenburg HS)-The 6-foot-7 wing for West Mecklenburg HS is averaging almost 18 points and 10 rebounds per game. He does a little bit of everything and is productive. He has the ability to make the right pass, he can rebound, block shots and get steals with his length.
Jamarius Burton (Independence HS)-Burton missed all of last season after suffering a leg injury, but he is back and looks like he hasn’t missed a beat. He is a scoring guard that can play the point guard or two-guard spot. He is a physical guard that can defend and rebound. Over the past month, Temple has been in a few times to see him.
