De La Salle is proving to be a team to be reckoned with in 2017-2018. They have next level talent that plays team basketball. Kole Gjonaj is proving this season that he is one of those De La Salle players with the skills to play college basketball. He is a 6-5 senior forward with a high level skill set. Gjonaj has put up good numbers this season despite having to share the wealth with players like Justin Fischer and Luke Pfromm. He is averaging 14ppg, 6rpg, and 2spg.
Kole Gjonaj is a uniquely talented player. He is very versatile, being able to play multiple positions on offense. Gjonaj is a smooth player who looks very comfortable on the wing and at the top of the key. He’s strong on the drive and can get to the basket in a 1-on-1 matchup. Gjonaj is equally as versatile on the defensive end. He can guard multiple positions and can be used in many capacities. Gjonaj can defend in the post or on the perimeter and he does them both well. He always seems to find a way to impact the game whether it’s scoring, defense, or intangibles.

A smart player is often a winning player, and Kole Gjonaj is certainly that. In preparation for the 2017-2018 season, he spent countless hours studying and learning about the game of basketball. He gathered information on what he needed to improve, got in the gym, and became a better player. Gjonaj also went to numerous camps and played a lot of games in summer league.
Kole Gjonaj is an intelligent young man with a lot of perspective. “I would like to play college basketball and have the possibility of that helping aid my college experience,” he said. Gjonaj has his sights set on a masters degree in business finance/accounting. He is motivated by his parents to accomplish these goals. “Seeing them both so successful in life and always pushing me and seeing the best in me motivates me to do the best that I can do,” said Gjonaj.
Kole Gjonaj will be a great addition to a collegiate program. Obviously his versatility is a unique asset especially in today’s game. Gjonaj will also bring dedication and hard work. He is the type of player that doesn’t take a single second off. Gjonaj will provide a coach with a smart player who is a true student of the game. In the next month or so, I would expect his recruitment to pick up and will be expecting him to find a school to suit up for next season.
