Prospect Spotlight: Caleb Robinson (2020)
Lake Charles College Prep has one of the state’s budding young starts with 6-foot-4 guard Caleb Robinson.
And with great size and plenty of ability, Robinson is could have a big 2018 in store, and is looking to prove he can be the big and skilled floor general that college programs need.
“I think one of my strengths is I get the ball to my teammates, because I got a lot of shooters. I know how to facilitate and I control the tempo,” said Robinson. “I need to focus on my jump-shot and going left.”
Robinson’s sophomore season with the Trailblazers is now well underway, and though he’s had to sit out a couple of games (ankle sprain), he’s back now.
There’s been a transition from 1A to 3A for Lake Charles, and Robinson says things haven’t gone quite as smooth as this season.
“The competition is harder, and that’s made a big impact on the way I play. I’ve had to change my role, last year I was playing all five positions, this year I’m just playing two,” said Robinson.
This spring and summer, he’ll play with Louisiana Elite 16U, that’s when things could get interesting recruitment-wise for Robinson.
“I have interest from Northwestern State, Southern Miss and Tulane, it’s letters in the mail right now,” said Robinson. “Some of my goals are to just get better and show what I got.”
