Prospect Spotlight: Alfonso Franklin (2019)
Over in St. Pete, 2019 Northeast forward Alfonso Franklin has been a reliable threat for the Vikings.
The 6’3″ junior plays bigger than his frame and has a knack for driving inside often.
Franklin says his sophomore season was a big learning experience for him.
Lsat season, helped expose things that I thought I was good at look bad,” Franklin told Prep Hoops Florida. “It made me work harder this offseason to get myself to where I needed to be at for my junior year.”
This summer, Franklin played for the St. Pete Heat. It was his first year with the program as he said they played hard as a unit and found chemistry.
No interest or offers have come yet for the junior forward.
Franklin pointed to his biggest strengths as his attack to the basket and his defense. He’s aiming to improve his shot and dribbling ability.
Northeast has been solid so far this season and Franklin is the Vikings second leading scorer with 10.6 PPG along with 4.9 RPG. He certainly can better his chances for college attention with a more polished jump shot, but he is a strong and tough-minded attacker who always hustles.
