Post Game Interview: Jamahri Harvey & Brandon Murray
Q: What are some things that you all could learn from this game tonight and how difficult was it coming in and playing today after such a long layoff due to the weather?
Jamahri: It wasn’t easy, we did not have practice for like two days but I learned that we just have to keep pushing, we had a 20 point lead and let them come back so we just have to keep pushing and not take our foot off the gas,
Brandon: Basically the same thing that Jamahri said, we had a couple days off. We were supposed to play yesterday and that got canceled too, so we just have to keep working hard and learn how to keep our foot on the gas.
Q: Brandon you had it going early on in the 1st half and Jamahri got it going in the 2nd half, the combination of scoring was big time for your squad, was that something you guys talked about or was it something that came along naturally?
Jamahri: We don’t really have a set half or anything like that we both try to come out aggressive and feed the hot hand. He was hot the first half and in the second half I caught fire and they got me the ball.
Brandon: Yea just like he said, we don’t really talk about it , we are coming together more as the season goes on and learning how to play together.
Q: With the college and NBA seasons going on now, who is a player that you watch to try and take things from their game?
Jamahri: Right now its definitely Trae Young, I’ve been watching him alot , not just the way he can shoot the ball but how poised he is and doesn’t allow the pressure to get to him. Even though he’s scoring 40 points he still finds ways to get his teammates involved.
Brandon: Right now I watch alot of Bradley Beal and CJ McCollum, scoring shooting guards and how they find their own shot as well as playing for their team as the same time.
Q: Both of you are what we call sleeper prospects, is that something you guys use as motivation or do you not pay attention to it?
Jamahri: I really don’t pay much attention to it but at the same time I’m not getting talked about as much so it does motivate me to keep working hard every day.
Brandon: I really don’t worry about it but at the same time I can see what is going on with other players that certain schools are looking at but its just making me work even harder.
