Oklahoma vs Missouri
Kickapoo and Enid played in the consolation championship at the Jenks/ Union Invitational. To start the game both teams struggled from the court, as the first bucket was not scored until a couple minutes into the first quarter. Both teams ran their own offenses well and found open shots but neither team could knock them down. Kickapoo started to find a little rhythm as they stroked some 3’s to open up a 12-7 lead at the end of the first. After the first quarter the tone was set. Kickapoo dominated play and went on to finish the half strong as they led by double-digits. The second half was much of the same as Kickapoo never looked like letting their big lead slip. Kickapoo beat Enid 59-40 to win the consolation bracket.
Sam Wallin 2018 Kickapoo Guard
Wallin was the difference in the game today. When both teams were struggling to make their open shots, Wallin found his range. Wallin caught fire from deep and Enid could not find a way to stop him. He had 10 of his team’s 12 points in the first quarter and did not slow down. He was consistent throughout the game. He was the spark that got his team out of the slump of them missing their open shots. He finished with a game-high 23 points on the night.
Darrin Rieman 2020 Enid Guard
Rieman was bright for a struggling Enid team. Enid could not seem to find their shot today as they missed open shot after open shot. He broke out of the slump for his team during the second and third quarter when he scored all of his points, but Enid as team could not find themselves. Rieman finished with a team-high 10 points on the day.
Anton Brookshire 2021 Kickapoo Guard
Brookshire led his team up the court and got them into their offense. He showed poise of an upperclassman as he played the majority of the game. He took care of the ball and did not turn it over. He played beyond his years with maturity. He also contributed some decent numbers statically speaking. He finished with 13 points on the day.
