Northwood Temple vs Freedom Christian
Northwood came into this matchup short handed and Freedom took full advantage by playing a very good game on both ends of the floor. The Patriots took control of the game early on and didn’t look back , taking home a conference win with a score of 65-53.
Freedom Christian Junior Guard Brandon Murray: He got going early in the game scoring 10 points in the 1st quarter while knocking down two trey balls. He has a gift for shooting the ball and does a good job of converting shots at high percentage when he’s in catch and shoot situations, he finished with 21 points.
Freedom Christian Junior Guard Jamahri Harvey: Jamahri was the leading scorer for his squad with 23 points on the night, he was solid in the first half but even more productive in the 2nd half. With his height, wingspan and ability to score as well as defend, he should be a player that colleges should be watching.
Northwood Temple Senior Forward Ian Steere: There is no question that he had the highlight of the game with his poster dunk in the first half over a defender, he’s strong and athletic and understands how to use those physical tools.
Northwood Temple Junior Guard Josh Nickelberry: Early on in this matchup he looked to get teammates involved, once the 2nd half began he turned it up scoring wise scoring 24 out of 25 points in the 2nd half. Due to the injury of starting point guard John Wright , he is playing the PG as well so he’s still figuring some things out but he clearly showed that whenever he wants to get buckets he can.
Northwood Temple Sophomore Guard Jay Hickman: Jay still has some work to do but he shows flashes of how good he can be, once the game began he made two nice passes inside and played some Point Guard at certain moments of the game.
Freedom Christian Sophomore Guard Jamel Carter: His numbers wont scream at you but the number that impresses me the most about Jamel is his turnovers. Throughout this game he did a good job of protecting the ball, getting his team into their sets and keeping his turnovers very low.
Freedom Christian Senior Forward/Center Milos Stajic: In the first half of the game he didn’t have very much of an impact, however after the halftime break he stepped it up some and made some plays. He is a euro style big man so don’t expect him to go into the paint too often, he likes to shoot the deep ball and with more work he could be a nice stretch forward.
Northwood Temple Sophomore Forward Travon Jackson: Trae is a high flyer and a player that brings alot of energy so he is always a solid asset to the squad, in the second half he threw down two dunks in transition to try and assist in a comeback effort for Northwood.
