New Years Day has long been known for college football bowl games.  The bowl games often give us unique team and individual matchups that we wouldn’t otherwise get to see.  The following is a list of high school matchups in Michigan that everyone would like to see.  They would certainly be considered bowl worthy.

SKYLINE V. CLARKSTON

Anyone who remembers this game from last year wants to see it again.  This game would have everything including a Foster Loyer and Brandon Wade showdown.  Would defensive stoppers CJ Robinson and Desmond Mills-Bradley be able to slow down sharpshooters like Jack Ammerman, Christian Knox, and Ryan Wade?  The interior matchup would be just as intriguing.  Could an athletic leaper like DeSean Munson from Skyline be able to neutralize Clarkston bigs such as Taylor Currie?

WARREN WOODS TOWER V.  DETROIT LOYOLA

Call me greedy, but I want to see Charles Anderson-Louie square off against Cam Hudson.  Both kids have strong physiques to go along with great ball handling skills.  Both are great defensively as well.  This would be an intense physical matchup.

PIONEER V. CANTON

Canton is one of the best teams in the state in regards to perimeter defense.  Their trio of guards (Senior Eian Barker, and juniors B. Artis-White and Vinson Sigmon) are all elite perimeter defenders.  Pioneer has one of the quickest and fastest point guards in the state in junior Drew Lowder.  They also have 6-7 junior Kasean Pryor, who can light up the scoreboard from the perimeter.  Could Canton slow down the Pioneer perimeter attack?

OLD REDFORD V. GODWIN HEIGHTS

Old Redford has junior guard Rocket Watts  who is one of the top ranked guards in Michigan.  He can score at all three levels and has no limit on his range.  By his side is 6-7 sophomore forward Isaiah Jackson who is ranked #2 in his class by PrepHoops.  He’s a versatile forward who can score from the inside, handle the ball, and run the floor. It’s be great to see them matched up against Godwin Height’s Big 2 Seniors:  6-7 forward Markeese Hastings and 6-2 guard Lamar Norman.  Hastings is an athlete who can run the floor and is active around the rim.  Norman is shifty and fast, and is an elite scorer.  These four players would have a gym packed and provide an electric atmosphere.
