Midseason Cobb POY Nominees Part 3
Here a few kids who made the Midseason Cobb County, GA player of the year list for public schools only.
2019 SG Isaac Okoro – McEachern High School
Isaac Okoro is one of the leaders on the McEachern squad, along with his backcourt mate 2020 PG Sharife Cooper. Isaac is having a great season so far halfway through the season. He is averaging 19.9 points per game, which is 3rd in Cobb County in scoring. Issac has a strong skill set at finishing around the basket. He is also one of the best defenders we see on the court. Isaac tends to guard the opposing teams best player most of the time. Let us not forget Isaac is ranked #40 in the nation according to ESPN.
2018 WG Khadim Samb – Sprayberry High School
This kids game has really improved in the last couple of years. Khadim, who has committed to play basketball next season at the University of Idaho, is a very lengthy wing with his incredibly long arms. Samb is an inside and outside threat and plays above the rim. Khadim is the senior leader of his Sprayberry squad and with his experience. He is averaging about 16 points per game right now. Khadim has missed a few games due to an ankle injury he suffered earlier on the season. His ankle does not seem to be bothering him though as he is coming off a 15 point 10 rebound game against region opponent Harrison.
2019 SG Isaac Martin – Wheeler High School
Isaac Martin is arguably the best shooter in Cobb County. Martin is a left handed 3pt specialist and has Klay Thompson type range. He has a major impact on his Wheeler squad and is the second leading scoring behind the 6’10 2018 C EJ Montgomery. Isaac has a few offers already from college level programs. Martin’s role will definitely rise next year for his senior year and who knows how much better he can get.
2018 CG Grant Howard – Pebblebrook High School
One of Pebblebrook’s elite shooters is this kid right here. The former Alexander High School star has transferred to powerhouse Pebblebrook for his senior season. Grant is a pure scorer and create his own shot off the dribble. Grant is also one of Cobb County’s top shooters with his skills to shoot behind the arc. Howard is averaging about 15 points per game and definitely has his impact on Pebblebrook this season and why they are an overall 12-2.
2018 F Pat McDonough – Walton High School
One of the surprise players who made our Midseason Cobb Player of the Year list is 2018 F Pat McDonough. McDonough has been one of the best players on his Walton sqaud this season. He is a versatile forward who can finish around the basket. Walton is 6-7 at the moment halfway through the season. The Raiders are better than what their record states due to the fact they have lost some tough close games.
