Marquee Matchups: Week 7 in Southern Ohio
By far the deepest schedule for Southern Ohio Marquee Matchups so far this season! Teams like Mason, Fairland, and John Glenn will have their toughest test of the season this week.
Dec. 9: Princeton at Mason
Princeton’s schedule ramps up after an undefeated start, as Mason and Pickerington North are on the week seven slate. Meanwhile, Mason appears to be one of the top three teams in the Greater Miami Conference, along with Princeton and Oak Hills. Seniors Tanner Knue and Noah Pedelty lead the way for Mason, but they’ll struggle to defend the size of Princeton, especially Darius Bazley.
Dec. 9: Fort Loramie at Versailles
Two of the best teams in their respective divisions — after December Fort Loramie was #1 in Division IV and Versailles #4 in Division III. Ohio State signee Justin Ahrens could be the difference in this game for Versailles, yet the big three of Tyler Siegel, Dillon Braun, and Evan Berning keep the system running for Loramie.
Dec. 9: Indian Hill at Deer Park
Both teams enter the Cincinnati Hills League showdown as undefeated teams. Four of the top ten scorers in the league are involved, as Indian Hill has senior guard Colin Shaw and Deer Park carries Damani Mcentire, Mark Wise, and Jalen Rose.

Dec. 12: Springfield at Huber Heights Wayne
Week seven is Springfield’s chance to establish themselves as a top ten team in Ohio. Their weekend schedule of Wayne is especially valuable to their viability in the GWOC, as Wayne appears to be the strongest team in the Dayton-area.

Dec. 14: Fairland vs. St. Vincent-St. Mary at Flyin’ to the Hoop
Truly can’t wait to watch this one at Flyin’ to the Hoop. Two Final Four teams from last year. Fairland returns their top players, including Kollin Van Horn, Gunner Short, Keedrick Cunningham, and Isaiah Howell. Meanwhile, the Irish have a new-look roster, yet carry the type of athleticism that threw Fairland off against VASJ last season. However, the 6’8” Van Horn is a major advantage for Fairland.
