“Kingdom of the Sun” Tourney: Interview Wrap-Up: Christian Miller-Cardwell
Senior F Christian Miller-Cardwell has established himself as one of the premiere scorers in the Gainesville area. It definitely showed during his time in the tourney. Here, C.M.C. speaks on the event, as a whole.
JR: “What was your experience like at the Kingdom of the Sun Tourney?”
CMC: “The Kingdom Of The Sun was a great experience. The environment was crazy, the crowd was into it. Every team you played against was at a high level, so it makes your team step up its game. We came in sixth place, but I believe we were the best team in it.”
JR: “How would you rate the level of competition, as a whole?”
CMC: “The level of competition was amazing. You had not only the top players in Florida, but you had top players from the entire east coast. Every team in the tournament was good, so it forces you to come out with your A-game, everyday.”
JR: “What did this 3-4 day experience teach you about your team?”
CMC: “It taught me that my team is strong. We grind everyday in practice and it shows on the court. Even though we lost two games, our team gave it all we had every time we stepped out there. Now, all we have to do is work on closing games. I Love My Team!”
JR: “Going into the second half of the season, what are you and your team’s goals after experiencing what you did at the #KOS?”
CMC: “The Kingdom showed us that we can play with anybody. Our top goals are obviously state and district titles, but Coach Beck and the rest of the coaches do a great job at making us focus at the task at hand. They show us we need to take every game seriously.”
JR: “Would you want to be part of this tournament again, next December? Why?”
CMC: “Yes I would want to be a part of the Kingdom next year. Great environment with great players and teams. Who doesn’t want that?”
