Justin Wright & Terquavion Smith are Dynamic Duo that Colleges Need To Be On!!!!
A few years ago we saw Farmville Central put together on of the most impressive accomplishments in high school basketball with an undefeated season and state championship. The majority of those players such as: Mike Taylor, Shaft Parker and Ikesta Johnson were seniors with the lone junior being Tyler Maye. Tyler would return the next season and put up tremendous numbers even though his team would come up short in the 1st round of the state playoffs. During that time Farmville had a freshman guard in Justin Wright who was slowly but surely coming into a player of his own and has developed into a solid player and prospect.
This season Justin has teamed up with Freshman Guard Terquavion Smith and the two have meshed very well together. With Justin averaging just under 20 points per game and Terquavion at 22 points a game, you have no choice but to respect what these two youngsters are doing. Personally I got my first chance to see them on Monday at the Farmville MLK day showcase and I left the gym very impressed.
Both have a natural feel for the game that you normally don’t see from a freshman and sophomore, and if they become rattled at any point they bounce back very quickly. Justin has more of a body that can embrace contact at this point when he gets in the paint but also nice range on his three point shot. Terquavion has a bit more height to him but has more of a slender body structure, however his ability to score the ball is outstanding. He can knock down shots from deep as well as using a crafty handle to break down defense and draw fouls or finish.
With the combination of these two young men as well as some other nice pieces on the squad, Farmville has a chance to be really good in the upcoming years. As long as they continue to work and mesh, these two young men should have a nice amount of D1 offers to pick from and should possibly even bring another state title back to Farmville.
