Breakdown: Now, we are past the point where the season is crazy and into the heart of it. The back half provides more context to the matchup and better clarity following the games. This week, we have quite a bit to watch with things starting off on Monday as Warren Central and Ben Davis finish their battle for the Marion County Tournament. One of the best games of the year, regardless of the week.
On Tuesday, we have Jeffersonville vs. Floyd Central. This is a big rivalry game that should provide a lot of answers. Floyd has been good and they do hold that win over New Albany but they need a few more big wins to see them as a top team in the state. This game will give them that opportunity.
Wednesday, we have a light schedule but Chesterton vs. Andrean will be a big matchup in the Region. We have a lot of good teams coming from up north this year and this is one of the better matchups. Chesterton holds the advantage but Andrean is proving they are good despite being young.
Thursday, we have another matchup from up north as Marquette Catholic and Mishawaka Marian gets going. Despite the record, Marquette Catholic is still a very good team and Marian is one as well. Marian has had a rough schedule and they look like they are locked in right now.
Friday, one of the better battle of MIC teams comes up as Ben Davis takes on Center Grove. Both teams are in the top part of 4A and can be looked at as contenders for the State Title. Will be a battle but a Dawand Jones/Trayce Jackson-Davis battle could be interesting.
Saturday night you have a game between Carmel and Brownsburg as a few overlooked teams. Carmel has been overlooked because they haven’t been really healthy yet and have yet to get that marquee win. Brownsburg has a great record and a ton of talent. This game could provide a really good boost for the winner.
