Games To Watch This Week
James Kennan vs Clinton: This game is one that had to be rescheduled due to bad weather, these teams both have enjoyed pretty successful season so far with James Kennan losing 4 games and Clinton HS only losing one. Clinton gets the job done by committee with Seniors Kris Williams and Dewan Lesense both averaging over double figures. James Kenan has gotten nice production from Senior Forward Jareem Lovette at 17 points and 7 rebounds a night, while Junior Guard Darryl McCaster Jr. is averaging close to 19 points per game.
Trask vs Pender: These two squads met last week for a game that turned out to be truly special, Trask Sophomore Guard Jajuan Carr went for 29 points, while Pender HS Freshman Guard Kahlil Marshall went for 40 points and led his team to a win. This time, the game will be held at Trask HS so you can expect the crowd to be rowdy and some good basketball.
Greene Central vs South Central: The last time these two teams matched up, South Central got the win at Greene Central. This time they will look to protect home court and take the season series 2-0, one of the matchups that fans and college coaches will be watching is between Green Central Junior Forward Imajae Dodd & South Central Sophomore Forward Dayron Sharpe. South Central Guard Shykeim Phillips stole the show in their last matchup, when he scored 31 points in the win.
Greensboro Day vs Wesleyan Christian: The two programs feature a lot of history with each other as well as a nice amount of college level prospects on their rosters for this year. Greensboro day has a record of 22-3 while Wesleyan Christian is 21-4, this game could have future state seeding implications so don’t be surprised to see playoff level intensity in this matchup.
Leesville Road vs Broughton: If you like guard play, then this is a matchup for you without a doubt. Leesville Road has one of the top backcourts in the area with Junior Guard Jalen Benjamin and Freshman Guard Carter Whitt sharing the responsibilities in the backcourt. While Broughton features some under the radar guards that can really play in Junior Guards DJ Thomas and Tynias Peace.
