Friday Night Games to Watch (SD)
This is the best Friday night so far this year to go watch some basketball around the state especially in you’re in the Sioux Falls and surrounding area. Top ten match-ups litter our list of games to check out tonight.
Top Game:
A #2 Sioux Falls Christian @ A #1 Madison
Both teams played tough opponents last night so neither has a rest advantage coming into tonight. Madison escaped with a a win vs # 5 Dell Rapids 67-60 last night. The bulldogs had contributions from Jadon Janke and Aaron Fiegen who had 16 and 13 respectively. Sioux Falls Christian had a tough test as we highlighted yesterday vs Vermillion. The Chargers got a 83-73 win behind 23 points from Mitchell Goodbary and 17 points from Koln Oppold. Tonight we will see some great match-ups… Goodbary vs Fiegen on the boards and around the basket. The Janke twins vs Oppold and Lincoln Unruh. Madison is at home and last time they were in a #1 vs #2 at home, they beat Tea who was #1 at that time. So what till happen tonight? Home team win, or #2 beats #1?
Other games to to watch:
AA #6 Sioux Falls Washington @ AA #2 Harrisburg
This is the toughest test for Harrisburg to date. Only two of Harrisburg’s nine wins have come vs teams with a winning record. Sioux Falls Washington has played top teams in the state already as well as top ten teams from Minnesota. Harrisburg’s versatility and ability to guard multiple spots and switch will help them in this one. The key is going to be on the boards vs Washington’s size. Manny Akot and Zach Heins are beasts in the paint and can give the Tigers fits as Ace Zorr and Michael Curry will have their hands full. Big nights are needed from the Harrisburg guards on the boards as well as guarding without fouling. Very intriguing matchup and we will find out lots about each team tonight.
AA #3 Rapid City Central vs AA #7 Sioux Falls O’Gorman
Two teams who are surging in opposite directions right now. Rapid City Central is still undefeated and 11-0. They got a big win vs Campbell County (WY) last week; and Campbell County is good! Rapid City Central makes there trip to Sioux Falls this week with something to prove – can they show the eastern part of the state that we are for real? On the opposite bench is O’Gorman who after starting well has lost three in a row. They are in desperate need for a win and knocking off undefeated and #3 in the state would be a great way to get back on track. Can O’Gorman contain the explosive guard duo of Dylan Hay and Kailleb Walton-Blanden? Can Jaron Zwagerman and Akoi Akoi have a big night for OG or will RCC junior Elijah Williams step up to the task of guarding them?
