Freshman Watch: 5 Guys On The Rise (Part 2)
The 2021 class has settled in this season here in Florida.
For the most part, there are freshmen making an impact for many different schools.
Here are five more 2021 athletes who have already developed their games this season.
ICYMI: Part 1
Alvin Tumblin (Sebring)
The 6’3″ forward has been on a tear for Sebring to start this season. The freshman is averaging 13.9 PPG, 12.7 RPG and 7.4 BPG. It has been a fun start for Tumblin, who has eight straight games with 10 or more points. His 25 point, 27 rebound and 11 block performance against Booker is certainly eye-opening. His he gains length and knowledge, Tumblin will turn into an even better threat.
Jonathan Renois (Somerset)
Averaging 13.1 PPG, 3.5 RPG, Renois has been a mainstay for Somerset in Class 5A. He has five double-digit outings including a 21-point night and two 18-point games. At 5’11”, Renois won’t wow you with his size, but he finds ways to get the job done.
Jonathan Blanding (Blake)
Over in Tampa, Blanding is figuring it out quickly at Blake. The freshman guard is averaging 12.8 PPG and 2.8 APG. Blanding had a 21-point outing against Robinson last month and has been solid to say the least for the Yellow Jackets.
Jordan Green (Hollywood Christian)
On Tuesday, Green posted a career-best 30 points along with seven rebounds and five assists in a blowout win over Grace Baptist. The 6’0″ guard is averaging 13.1 PPG, 6.2 RPG and 2.0 APG. Hollywood Christian is only 3-9 in Class 2A ball, but Green is standing out on a nightly basis.
Aaron Jones (Evangelical Christian)
Jones is a big kid at 6’6″, 170 lbs. He’s averaging 12.4 PPG and 7.3 RPG with 10 double digit games. Jones is fresh off a 22-point, 8-rebound performance against South Fort Myers. If developed correctly, this will be a mature and sound leader by this time next season.
