Diamond’s In The Desert Under The Radar Players
When you talk about under-the-radar players these type of players, or not often spoke about in many conversation. Traveling throughout the city of Las Vegas I come in contact with many players of this caliber. I will give you three players in this Valley that fall under the category call “Diamonds In The Desert.” Many people have asked me the question, what is a Diamond in the Desert player. These type of players are young men who will do anything to help their team win! They do all the little things that go unnoticed. For instance rebounding, running the floor, taking charges. Young men like this fighting for loose balls, and set the tone meter for the locker room. They have great attitudes that determine their altitude.
Over the years Las Vegas high have produced some very good players. 2019 6’5″ Forward Jaylin Headen is the type of player every coach is looking for! This young man works hard and gives you everything. He’s another one of those players if you take under your wing, and develop him he could be something special. Mr. Headen is a key component to his Team who is 14-5, 3-0 in league. It’s hard to find players that will do the little things! Jaylin is a relentless rebounder that finds ways to create opportunities for himself. He has a nice outside touch that makes him effective on the offensive end. He brings toughness and defensive intensity. Something that is missing in this new era of basketball among our children!
Everybody at Liberty High knows that Julian Strawther is the face of the program. There is a 5’10” point guard name Jordan Holt, who is a very important part to the puzzle. This young man have embraced his role in coming off the bench and being a spark.plug for his team. His court vision at his age is very special he is the best ball-handler on his team and knows how to create for his players. A great attitude and a great field for the game makes him a Diamond in the Desert.
Legacy High has a wing that no one talks about. His name is D’Eric Marlowe a 6’5″ shooter that has outside range. That makes him a threat in transition. He’s a throwback type of player. That likes to rough It Up Inside. At this present moment his team is playing .500 basketball. This young man can play with his back to the basket. He’s very effective around the rim a big body. That has the ability to play at the next level.
