De Anza High School Basketball
The 2017-2018 has been a great season so far for De Anza High School (El Sobrante, CA) as they are 17-3 overall and are now 6-0 in league. They have shown their versatility as a team and their roster is balanced as they have four seniors, three sophomores, and four juniors. Their senior leaders are Jalen Chandler, and Jalen Scott who have both had breakout games for the Dons. Sophomore guard Daniel Fagan is the team’s point guard and has a high basketball IQ. Fagan talked about De Anza’s success so far. “We’ve been working as a team to get wins and that’s the way we want to play for the rest of the season”, Fagan said.
De Anza has 4 more league games and are expected to run the table and finish conference play at 10-0. This will enable them to have a high playoff seed which will give them a home game. In the 2016-2017 season Head Coach Reginald Figgs saw his boys go down convincingly to Las Lomas High School 91-64. He will look to advance deeper in the playoffs this year and continue to build a culture that many future student-athletes will want to be a part of.
