Nor-Cal’s Potential Pros
Northern California is filled with talent from 9-12th grade this season. There are hundreds of players throughout Northern California that will move on to play college basketball, but the number of student-athletes that will make it to the NBA will get smaller. However, there are a handful of players that may have Pro potential.
Jalen Green – San Joaquin Memorial High School (Class of 2020)
High volume scorer with great NBA size for a guard. Has drawn comparisons to Kobe Bryant due to his ability to score in many different ways.
James Akinjo – Salesian High School (Class of 2018)
James is a tough competitor, and is true point guard. His toughness and ability to score can potentially make him an ideal player for the NBA.
Amadou Sow – Prolific Prep (Class of 2018)
Amadou’s 6’8′ frame and athletic ability, can make him a NBA prospect. He runs the floor extremely well, and is a great offensive rebounder.
Jordan Brown – Prolific Prep (Class of 2018)
Jordan is very skilled at 6’10’ and with the evolution of the “Big Man” being able to have guard like skills, he can be a factor in the NBA as he continues to develop.
Isaiah Hawthrone – Tracy High School (Class of 2019)
Hawthrone’s stock has gone up over the past summer and will continue throughout his junior year. He is 6’7′ and has a long wing span, defends well, and has a good ability to score the basketball.
Elijah Hardy – Bishop Odowd High School (Class of 2018)
From Nate Robinson, to Isaiah Thomas, to Markelle Fultz, the University of Washington has produced good NBA point guards over the last 10-15 years. Hardy could be another addition to that list as he will play for the Huskies next season. His court vision is one of a kind, and his high basketball IQ along with his ability to score when needed could allow him to become a potential pro.
Naseem Gaskin – Bishop Odowd High School (Class of 2018)
Naseem has NBA athleticism, and is a really good defender. He could be an ideal combo guard at the next level, and will be playing in the Pac-12 next season at Utah.
Logan Johnson – St. Francis High School (Class of 2018)
Logan Johnson who is the younger brother of Miami Heat guard Tyler Johnson, has a lot of potential. He has an ability to score, and has a high basketball IQ. If Johnson can reach his full potential at Cincinnati he could be a Pro one day.
Keep an eye on these prospects out of Northern California, as they all have a high ceiling!
