Jairus Hamilton
The 2018 class still has some prospects in the class that can play college basketball at the next level. Here is a look at the unsigned seniors in North Carolina.
Jairus Hamilton (6’7, 2018 SF) Cannon School-Long wingspan at nearly 6’10”, long arms, quick off the floor and can move laterally very fast. Has a college ready body. Possesses a strong handle for his size and is a above average rebounder. He recently showed his ability to knock down shots from long range and consistently get to the rim off the dribble. Maryland, Boston College, Mississippi State and Villanova are involved and I would expect a late signing for Hamilton.
Greyson Collins (6’0, 2018 G) Caldwell Academy-He has a high basketball IQ. He has a pure jump shot and great range out to the three-point line and is great at scoring off the ball. He has the ability to create his own shot or make the right play to get his teammates involved, showing his ability to be a reliable leader on the floor.
Taji Moore (6’0, 2018 PG) Kinston-Taji is a true leader. He’s the glue guy on any team who is vocal and isn’t afraid to guard the oppositions best player. He truly enjoys getting an assist over scoring, and plays defense for 94 feet every second of every game. He has a strong jump shot and consistently can make jumpers.
Ben Bowen (6’9, 2018 F) South Stokes HS-Impressive big with long arms, gets good position down low, grabs rebounds and blocks shots. He is skilled with his back to the basket and has good footwork.
Qon Murphy (6’5, 2018 SG) Cannon School-Good size at the guard position, can knock down mid-range shots or attack the basket and finish at the rim. He had a strong showing at The Chick-Fil-A Classic in Columbia, South Carolina and is starting to attract more college attention.
KC Hankton (6’8, 2018 F) United Faith-Strong bloodline athletically (dad played in NFL), gifted size, can finish well in transition, strong and long. Gets hands and arms in passing lanes. has the ability to play the stretch four position in college with his ability to knock down the three-point shot.
Jamarius Burton (6’4, 2018 SG) Independence– Plays both ends of the floor and has a consistent jump-shot and can defend. 6’4, with long arms and has a college ready body. He can score off the dribble and is a solid defender.
Dakari Johnson (6’0, 2018 PG) Hoke County-Tough-nosed PG that can score off the dribble and can knock down the spot-up jumper or create for his own shot.
Chris Barnette (6’4, 2018 G) Ravenscroft-Skilled shooter who can knock down shots consistently. High basketball IQ,very tough, defends 94 feet and makes WINNING plays. Recently picked up an offer from Citadel.
Isaac Suffren (6’2, 2018 SG) Providence Day/Carolina Wolves-Smart player with a high basketball IQ, knows where to make the right pass and doesn’t make mistakes. Had a strong Chick-Fil-A Classic and was named to the All-Tournament team with his play. Under-recruited in my opinion.
Tripp Greene (6’1, 2018 CG) Greensboro Day/Team United-Tripp is a player that coaches love simply because he brings all the intangibles that you want from your PG, defensively he gives it’s a 100% and has solid lateral quickness and hands. Tripp is what many would call a ‘‘pesky” defender, you may get one step on him but he recovers quickly and contains his opponent very well.
