The 2018 Kentucky All “A” Classic kicks off Thursday, January 25th at Eastern Kentucky University’s McBrayer Arena. A prestigious event for Kentucky’s smaller schools, or “Class A” schools, teams represent Kentucky high school basketball’s 16 regions. Here we preview Collegiate vs. Raceland:
Louisville Collegiate Profile:
How they got here: The Titans defeated St. Francis and Kentucky Country Day in competitive match-ups leading up to the state tournament in Richmond.
Surprisingly enough Louisville Collegiate finds itself ranked 2nd overall in the 7th Region standings with a record at 17-4 on the season.
They are led by sophomore forward Chez Moore, who is averaging just over 20 points and 9 rebounds per game. Senior Eli Allen is second in scoring, avearging just under 13 points per game.
Raceland Profile:
How they got here: Defeated Menifee County, Morgan County, and Bath County in the 16th Region All “A” Tournament Classic.
Currently sitting at 10-5 on the year, the Rams defeated defending 16 Region tournament champions Elliott County earlier in the season.
Raceland is led in scoring by Rylie Potter, who is averaging just over 15 points and 9.5 rebound per game. Travis Weaver is also averaging 11 points and 6.7 rebounds per game.
