The 3rd Annual Crescent Construction MLK Bash started with Hartsville vs Cardinal Newman. The event is hosted by Carey Rich a basketball icon in the Columbia area and ambassador to the Capital City.
The Hartsville Red Foxes battled back from being down 23-16 at halftime to 43-36 with 4:04 left in the game. The Red Foxes showed plenty of grit and moxie to battle back and take the Cardinals into overtime with the scored tied at 45-45.
Trae Hannibal took over for the Red Foxes to score 4 of his teams 8 points in the overtime. The Red Foxes prevailed 53-50 in the opening game of the 3rd Annual Crescent Construction MLK Bash at Eau Claire HS.

Hannibal recently moved up to #7 in the 2019 Palmetto State Class. Hannibal a explosive guard finished the game with 23 points and 11 rebounds on 9-18 shooting from the floor. Hannibal over powered the Cardinals around the cup at times today.
Clutch Performers : Chico Carter Jr. (2019) and Trae Hannibal
Carter Jr. wouldn’t be left out with him and Hannibal trading blows throughout the game for there squads. Carter Jr. finished the game with 20 points and 9 rebounds. Both of these players are some of the premier guards in the 2019 Palmetto State Ranks.
Unsung Hero : Da’Shawn Davis (2018) Hartsville HS
Davis scored just 7 points and recorded 5 steals in the game but it was his timing in the game for those things that helped sparked the Red Foxes. Davis hit a big three pointer late in the game to help the Red Foxes to victory.
Best Freshman : Joshua Beadle (2021) Cardinal Newman
Beadle came off the bench today for the Cardinals and finished with 6 points. Beadle a left-handed slender guard looks very poised on the floor in crucial times for the Cardinals.
Takeaway :
The Red Foxes were without the services of Head Coach Yusef English as he was serving a one game suspension. Red Foxes forward Kyron Gray (2018) scored just 9 points and grabbed 4 rebounds today. Ceasare Edwards (2021) 6’7 didn’t play in the game.
Daniel Dunlap a ultra athletic guard finished with 10 points and South Carolina football recruit Patrick Reedy added 6 points and 6 rebounds in the loos for the Cardinals. Bryson Earle saw action after transferring in from Spring Valley HS last season and finished with 3 points.
