5 Takeaways : Ridge View vs Keenan MLK Bash
The final game of the day at the 3rd Annual Crescent Construction MLK Bash featured Ridge View vs Keenan. These two schools are just over 7 miles apart from one another in the Capital City. The Raiders defeated Ridge View in a close battle 50-45 to close out the day.
MVP : Dillon Jones (2020) Keenan HS (pictured on front)
Jones played up to his potential today by scoring 17 points and grabbing 14 rebounds while coming off the bench for the Raiders. Jones 6’5 played very assertive and aggressive all day long. Jones is ranked #2 in the Prep Hoops Palmetto State 2020 Class.
Best Defensive Performance : Malcolm Wilson (2019) Ridge View
Wilson was altering and blocking shots all day long for the Blazers. Wilson recorded 11 BLOCKS today and was just a menace in the paint. Wilson 6’11 is ranked #5 in the Prep Hoops Palmetto State 2019 Class.
Wilson has been offered by South Carolina (Head Coach Frank Martin was sitting court side), Clemson and Virginia Commonwealth. Wilson must get stronger in the weight room with his slender frame.
Undersized Post : Ervin Stone (2018) Keenan HS
Stone is a the ultimate blue collar – junk yard dog in the paint. Stone 6’4 didn’t back down from Wilson in the paint and went right after him on several occasions. Stone plays strictly inside the paint and is a very deceptive athlete and doesn’t mind sacrificing his body on the defensive end. Stone took a few charges today for the Raiders.
Stone finished with 8 points in the win.
Scoring Guard : Crosby Harris-James (2019) Ridge View
Harris-James has a good knack for scoring the ball. Harris-James is really quick with the ball and can get into the gaps. Harris-James showed a nice pull-up jumper and the ability to knock down the 3 pointer. Harris-James finished with 16 points.
Unknown Name : Raekwon Horton (2020) Keenan
Horton probably isn’t on many peoples radar. Prep Hoops first saw him play this summer on the AAU circuit with the G.W.P. Sixers and Head Coach Marvin Chatman. Horton 6’3 pops off screens or can catch-shoot the ball from downtown. Horton a very confident shooter finished the game with 11 points.
