4 Bay Area Players are Nominees for McDonald’s All-American Game
From Jason Kidd and Gary Payton, to Aaron Gordon and Damian Lillard, the Bay Area has been home to big-time NBA players. Today the high school scene features a lot of talent and some believe the class of 2018 has potential NBA players in years to come. That prediction is headed in the right direction as four Bay Area players were nominated to be participants in the McDonald’s All-American Game. Here are the four nominees:
James Akinjo – Salesian HS PG 6’1′
Akinjo has been on a scoring tear to start the 2017-2018 high school season, and has led Salesian to the number 5 spot in the Nation. He will play at Uconn next season.
Logan Johnson – St. Francis HS PG 6’3′
Johnson has a high basketball IQ, and can score in many different ways. NBA is in his blood with his older brother being Miami Heat guard Tyler Johnson, but Logan is quickly making a name for himself and building his own legacy. Logan will be playing for Cincinnati during the 2018-2019 season.
Naseem Gaskin – Bishop O’dowd HS SG 6’4′
Naseem’s athleticism has been compared to NBA superstar Russell Westbrook, which will make him very exciting to watch next year at UTAH. He has a long wing span, and defends well.
Elijah Hardy – Bishop O’dowd HS PG 6’2′
Hardy is a crafty lefty with excellent court vision, and can shoot off the dribble. The University of Washington has had its history of good point guards such as Nate Robinson, Isaiah Thomas, and Markelle Fultz. Hardy could possibly be added to that list.
