Prospect Watch: Rieshaun Satar (2018)
Henry Sibley has taken big steps as a program this year and a key part of that is the scoring of Rieshaun Satar.
“We are having a pretty decent start to the season coming up with some W’s,” Satar told Prep Hoops. “From past years, this year has been better than past years. Still being the underdogs and the team that is still slept on, we will continue to prove and shock people.”
Sibley won five games last year so beating Eagan, Irondale, Harding, and St. Anthony building to a 4-4 record is a nice step forward. The Warriors will soon match last year’s win total and not look back.
Rieshaun has a very important role for his team and he has a lot he hopes to accomplish.
“Being the leader in the program having the biggest role to take this team and program to where it needs to be,” Satar said of what he is doing for his squad.
“Being in the gym constantly long days and nights working on building my body up getting bigger and stronger. Continuing to work on my craft and grow in all parts of my game everyday to be where I want to be, never being satisfied.”
Satar is giving Sibley 22 points pairing with Malik Spearman to score 40 a night as a 1-2 punch. Tyrinn Zubulake, Dayton Massie, Brad Reyes, and Eli Lone Tree are other key pieces to this team.
“We are coming back with kids in the program that can play and have some pieces that are returned, not losing anyone but returning to “shock the world.” Being the team that is constantly overlooked, we look to make a lot of noise this year.”
It’s obvious that Rieshaun feels his team is overlooked and has the potential for great things. His goals also share those thoughts.
“I look to lead this team to go much further than it has in the past,” Satar said. “Being a smaller and younger team, we look to take the tempo of games and take control. Taking it one step at a time but at the end of it all, not being the “underdogs” anymore.”
Satar is likely to play college basketball next year although where is completely up in the air at this point.
“I have had some college programs contact me but have not planned or had any visits but I look to get in a couple visits to see what the atmospheres are like and what I would like to be around in the future playing in.”
